The Board of Directors of the Cowley County Crime Stoppers Inc. has approved the following for Crime of the Month for November 2007.
Between October 13th and November 5th 2007 eleven burglaries have been reported by businesses located in Ark City. They include the Sirloin Stockade at 2825 North Summit, Beijing Chinese Restaurant at 2906 North Summit, Trinity Baptish Church at 1301 South A Street, Helms Liquor STore at 1625 South Summit, Hillcrest Bowling Lanes at 2400 North Summit, Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts at 513 South Summit, Salvation Army at 318 North Summit, Taco Tico at 2506 North Summit was twice the victim of burglary during this period, First United Methodist Church at 2448 Edgemont, and Woods Lumber at 115 West Jefferson.
These burglaries are similar to one another and may have been committed by the same person or persons. Some of the items reported stolen include cash and lap top computers. Entry into the buildings was by use of a pry tool or glass breakage.
The Arkansas City Police Department is asking for assistance from anyone who may have information about these crimes.
